Con Edison Sponsors 2000 Holiday Lights at The Bronx Zoo

NEW YORK, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- What has tens of thousands of lights and draws hundreds of thousands of tourists every holiday season? The Con Edison (NYSE: ED) Holiday Lights exhibit at the Bronx Zoo, of course. The Bronx Zoo Holiday Lights sponsored by Con Edison officially will be lit tomorrow, Friday, November 17, at 5:30 p.m. The enlightening exhibit runs through January 1. Helping illuminate the extravaganza will be cast members from Radio City Entertainment's "A Christmas Carol," along with local children, Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer, and Con Edison Director of Bronx Public Affairs Gail McMillan. The winter wonderland features more than 140 illuminated animal sculptures, along with a reindeer, camels, the nightly seal feeding and music by the New York Choral Society. The newest addition to this year's Holiday Lights is a "Polar Zone," featuring a huge ice castle. "Con Edison is happy to participate in this city event, which has become a holiday family tradition for thousands of our friends and customers as well as our employees who visit the Holiday Lights every season," said Frances A. Resheske, Con Edison's vice president for public affairs.
