Con Edison Refers Customers to Web Site for Claims
Outreach Van Closing
NEW YORK, NY, Aug 17, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- Con Edison's outreach van, which has been assisting customers since the July 18 steam-main incident, will be open for two more days: Wednesday August 22 and Thursday August 30 at 14 W. 30th St. between Fifth Avenue and Broadway. It will be open from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

After August 30, those seeking to file a claim or have questions about claims from the July 18 event may download claims forms and obtain information by visiting the Con Edison Web site at www.conEd.com.

The company is advising people who were near Lexington Avenue and 41st Street after 6 p.m. on July 18 and had dust or debris on their clothing and belongings to put them in a plastic bag and bring it to the customer service van on August 22 or August 30. Con Edison will arrange for the safe disposal of these items. Customer-care personnel will be available to help people fill out a reimbursement request. For information about asbestos, please see the New York City Department of Health fact sheet at http://home2.nyc.gov/html/doh/html/ei/eiasbest.shtml.
