Con Edison Named Most Reliable Utility in Northeast

NEW YORK, Dec 7, 2006 – Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. (Con Edison) has been named the most reliable electric utility for the northeast region of the United States by PA Consulting Group, an international consultant that presents its signature “ReliabiltyOne” awards annually to utilities that have excelled in delivering reliable electric service to their customers.
“This award is a recognition of the hard work and dedication of Con Edison's 14,000 employees, who are responsible for our electrical system's reliability,” said Kevin Burke, chairman and chief executive officer of Con Edison. “We strive for excellence every day and are committed to providing New Yorkers with the highest level of service possible. We will continue working to make our performance even better.” The award was presented recently during a ceremony in Miami, Florida. Con Edison provides the most reliable electric service in the country. The system performs at a level that is seven times above the national average.
