NEW YORK, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- In honor of the World Series between the Yankees and the Mets, Con Edison will illuminate the clock tower at its headquarters building in the colors of each team on the dates of each home game throughout the series.

For the first game on Saturday, October 21, the tower will be lit with a blue and white striped lighting pattern to represent the Yankees. When the Mets host the series on Wednesday, October 25, the tower will be bathed in orange and blue. This lighting rotation will continue until the World Series concludes.

"The Yankees and Mets have generated a new level of excitement for the whole city with this monumental Subway Series," said Frances A. Resheske, vice president of public affairs for Con Edison. "We want to honor both teams by lighting our tower in their team colors."

The lighted tower of the Con Edison headquarters building at 14th Street and Irving Place is a familiar sight on the nighttime New York City skyline. The clock is illuminated by a state-of-the-art fiber optic distribution system that changes colors through pre-programmed computer commands.
