Con Edison Assigns Extra Crews to Restore Power in Westchester County

NEW YORK, July 13 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 100 Con Edison crews are working today to restore electricity in the aftermath of severe storms that swept through Westchester County. Additional crews from Brooklyn and Queens have been assigned to help restore power to customers in Westchester County today.

Con Edison continues to assess damage, and overnight restored electricity to more than 8,200 customers in Westchester County.

Approximately 10,000 customers were without power in the aftermath of storms that whipped through the county late Wednesday. Of the remaining 1,800 customers still without electricity today, about 1,600 were from the original storm and the balance from overnight storms.

Sleepy Hollow, Tarrytown, Mount Pleasant, New Castle and Hawthorne are among the communities hardest hit.

Con Edison asks all customers to stay away from any downed power lines and to treat them as live wires. The company urges customers to call 1-800-75 CONED to report downed power lines.
