Batter Up! Con Edison Employees To Hold Benefit For St. Mary's Hospital For Children

New York - Eight teams of employees from Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. will hold a softball tournament to benefit St. Mary's Hospital for Children on July 20. It will be held in Alley Pond Park, Queens, from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Con Edison employees from several divisions, including gas, electric, environmental health and safety, and energy services have "adopted" the Bayside, Queens hospital as their favorite charity,. In the last six years, Con Edison employees have raised more than $100,000 for the hospital. St. Mary's Hospital is a 131-year-old, 97-bed acute care and rehabilitation facility caring for 2,000 children a year ranging from infants to adolescents. The donation to the benefit game is $25 for adults; children are free. Admission includes food and beverages. The Con Edison softball games will be held in Alley Pond Park, at Union Turnpike and Winchester Boulevard, next to the tennis courts. |
