NEW YORK, June 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Con Edison hit a new peak in electricity demand for the month of June today and also recorded the company's second-highest peak ever. At 5 p.m. today, Con Edison provided 12,138 megawatts in electrical power to its 3.1 million customers, setting a new record for June, which had been 11,875 megawatts set at 4 p.m. on June 26, 2003. During the ongoing heat wave, Con Edison remains in regular communication with New York City's Office of Emergency Management and the Westchester Office of Emergency Services.
